Washington & Jefferson College is a private liberal arts college located in Washington, Pennsylvania. The institution was founded in 1781 and has a long history of competing literary societies. The academic emphasis of the college is on the liberal arts and sciences, with a focus on preparing students for professional and graduate schools. 

The Washinton & Jefferson College is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. With a student-faculty ratio of 12:1, the average class size is 17 students, enabling teachers to give attention to all the students. Students can choose from 32 majors and 27 minors in the subject areas of business, English, chemistry, computing and information studies, and environmental studies, among others.

The campus housing facilities include options for residence halls and fraternity & sorority housing. The residence halls are divided into spaces for first-year students and upperclass students, all of which have different amenities.

About Location

Washington is the county seat of Washington County, Pennsylvania. It is basically a part of the Pittsburgh Metropolitan area in the southwestern region of the state and has a humid continental climate. Though not a large city, it still has a public transportation system which can be used by the students to explore the various entertainment venues and outdoor recreational areas during their free time. The city also has several restaurants and bars, enabling them to have spaces for socializing and enjoyment.
