Overview

Lakeland University is a private liberal arts institution with its main campus in Plymouth, Wisconsin. It has seven evening, weekend and online educational centres throughout the state of Wisconsin and a four-year international campus in Tokyo, Japan. The university was founded in 1862 as Mission House College and was later renamed Lakeland College in 1956 before finally becoming Lakeland University in 2021. It offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in various fields, including education, psychology, computer science, and criminal justice, among others. 

The university is known for its cooperative education program enabling students to gain hands-on experience through internships and work placements during the course of their programs. Lakeland University offers over 30 majors, which include the newest academic programs that lead to a Bachelor’s degree in Food Safety and Quality, Management Information Systems, and Graphic Design.

Services for International Students

Over 2,200 students take up educational degrees at the university and are guided by the Division for Student Affairs. The department provides various developmental services and activities that support the academic, residential and personal success of students. The Career Readiness and Professional Development department helps students in finding meaningful placements during and after their university years.
