Three Rutgers University Campuses Break Into Top 100 in U.S. News Ranking

Published 19 September 2023

The U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges list has given remarkable rankings to the campuses of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, Newark, and Camden.

New Brunswick climbed to a new high, tied for 40th overall, a remarkable 15-spot jump, while the Newark and Camden campuses debuted in the top 100, tied for 82nd and 98th, respectively.

The rankings, which placed an emphasis on social mobility, student accomplishments, manageable debt, and post-graduate performance, were crucial. Notably, alumni contributions were no longer included, allowing the focus to shift to more important factors.

Rutgers President Jonathan Holloway obviously was thrilled by the news: “This is exciting news for all of us across Rutgers because it signals that, in complementing our longstanding academic excellence, the work we are doing to make a Rutgers education more accessible while strengthening support for our remarkable, diverse students is being reflected in increasingly strong rankings".
